Skýrslutæknifélag Íslands, Ský, has been active since 1968 and is therefore the oldest organization in Iceland that works at ICT and independent of institutions and interest groups. Needless to say, the technological world has undergone many revolutions during that time. Few had access to computers 38 years ago but have long since become public property and an integral part, and essential in the daily lives of people of all ages and for the activities of society. With the advent of powerful and fast computer networks, the world has become one and has meant that ICT companies in Iceland can sell their products, services and expertise all over the world. Ský has followed this revolution from the beginning and the work always takes into account the spirit of the times, although the name reflects the roots of technology.
