Hundreds gathered in Colorado Springs' All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church Sun. night to mourn the victims.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, who became the nation's first openly gay governor in 2018, called the club a "safe haven" Sun..

Polis: "Club Q has been a safe haven for the LGBTQ community in an area where it hasn't always been easy."

Polis: "It's a place where we can gather, dance, and share the joy."

According to CNN, Club Q was until recently the only LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Pres. Biden also addressed the shooting Sun.: "Jill and I are praying for the families of the five people killed..."

Biden: "...we know that the LGBTQI+ community has been subjected to horrific hate violence in recent years."

Biden: "Gun violence continues to have a devastating and particular impact on LGBTQI+ communities across our nation."
