The El Paso community held an "El Paso Strong" rally to protest President Donald Trump's visit on Wednesday.

Residents and lawmakers showed up in solidarity with the border city, including New Mexico Rep. Deb Haaland.

Saturday's mass shooting was the deadliest anti-Hispanic attack in recent U.S. history.

Many blame the president's anti-immigrant rhetoric for inciting the attack.

Rep. Veronica Escobar declined to meet with the president. She told MSNBC that Trump wasn't welcome in El Paso.

Escobar, on CNN: "The words that the President has used have dehumanized us."

Former Rep. Beto O'Rourke also showed up to offer words of comfort to his hometown.
