Fulton County DA Fani Willis on Sat. reaffirmed her commitment to announce charges against Trump by Sept. 1.

Willis told WXIA Sat. that she would hold true to her promise in April to announce her charges against Trump by Sept. 1:

Willis's charges could come in early Aug.: in May, she signaled that she would charge Trump the weeks of Aug. 7 and 14.

Willis has been investigating Trump for two years over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.

Willis launched her probe into Trump in Feb. 2021, shortly after he attempted to pressure Georgia's elections officials.

Per the WaPo, Trump called Georgia’s top officials with a request to "find 11,780 votes" to overturn his loss in the state.

Trump lost the state in 2020 by 11,779 votes. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger denied the request.
