Election night is already turning out to be a big one for Democrats: In Kentucky, AG Andy Beshear was elected governor.

Beshear ousted incumbent Matt Bevin with, as of 20:00 PST, 49.2% of the vote. (NYT)

Bevin hasn't conceded yet. He called the race a "squeaker" and said he wanted "the process to be followed."

Bevin was the most unpopular governor in the country with a 53% disapproval rating, per Morning Consult.

Beshear's election is a big win for Kentucky Democrats. In 2016, the state voted for Trump with 62.5% of the vote. (NYT)

Trump also endorsed Bevin, flying to Kentucky on Mon. to show support. It could be a preview of what's to come in 2020.

Beshear promised three actions in his first week as governor: 1) Rescind Bevin's Medicaid waiver...

2) Establishing and seating a new Board of Education...

3)...and the restoration of voting rights for +140K people with non-violent felony convictions.

Bevin was met with widespread protests in 2018 after pushing through legislation that would cut teacher pensions. (NPR)

Beshear is following in the footsteps of his father, former two-term Gov. Steve Beshear.
