The painting has gone missing! To make matters worse, the fascists have locked down the hotel, Cecil has found Bella's letter, and Billy's been arrested. In short, everyone is in deep trouble.

Bella catches Plum leaving early in the morning for a tournament and sends him with a letter.

Moments later the fascists show up to inspect the hotel (with the clear intent to shut it down).

Then Jack comes in and reveals the painting is missing! The cops are called and Danioni locks down the hotel.

Bella tries to calm matters by serving breakfast. The Count must step in to negotiate, as Cecil investigates with zeal.

Billy is suspect because of the supposed bike theft and his spare key. He's locked in a shed by Cecil, Jack, and Danioni.

Anish panics that they'll find the antifascist flyers, and uses his doctor's visit with Billy to try to find and move them.

Cecil is fuming because he read Bella's love letter, and he's taking it out on everyone. Bella has no clue what's going on.

During breakfast Cecil accuses Jack of stealing the painting, leading to an explosive confrontation.

Lucian tells his family about Anish and the flyers. Alice is furious, but they all decide to hide them and protect Anish.

After learning the flyers are under her bed, Lady Latchmere bravely decides to claim them, saying she cannot stand bullies.

Jack blames Claudine for the theft and berates her in front of the guests. This row gets him booted from the hotel.

The Count manages to convince the government to leave the hotel alone, but states that he cannot protect them for long.

After the inspection comes up empty, Constance reveals she re-hid the flyers to a grateful Lucian and Anish.

At day's end still-furious Cecil confronts Danioni. Afterwards he confronts Bella about the letters and strikes her.
