Coffee was discovered in Ethiopia in the 11th Century!

Legend says the goat herder, Kaldi, discovered the potential of these magical beans.

Kaldi noticed that after his goats ate berries from a tree, his goats became so energetic they didn't sleep at night.

He reported this finding to a monastery who made a drink with it. He said that it kept him alert through evening prayer.

The Abbot shared the finding with monks at the monastery and word spread like wildfire, making it's way east!
