Chicago mayoral candidates Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson advanced to an April 4 runoff after Tue.'s election.

Vallas celebrated the election results during a rally Tue. night: "We will make Chicago the safest city in America."

Vallas: "We need to address the underlying causes of the problem that the city faces."

Johnson also celebrated his advancement to the runoff with his supporters Tue. night: "Anything is possible, Chicago."
