Maussan told Mexican lawmakers that the 1000-year-old bodies were "found buried in diatomite mines" in Peru in 2017.

Are they real? Not so fast: per USA Today, Maussan has a years-long history of presenting debunked alien discoveries.

Mexico's UAP hearing comes nearly two months after the U.S. House of Representatives held its first-ever hearing on UAPs.

Former Air Force officer David Grusch testified to the House in July that the US was in possession of "non-human" remains.

According to a 2023 government report, 500+ UAP sightings have been recorded between 2004 and 2023. (CNN)

Of these 500 UAP sightings, 171 were "unexplained," exhibiting "unusual flight characteristics or performance." (CNN)
