Biden delivered remarks Fri. in front of Just-In-Time Recreation, one of the sites of the shooting.

Biden: "No pain is the same but we know what it's like to lose a piece of our soul..."

Biden: "Eighteen precious souls stolen, 13 wounded: Children, grandchildren, spouses, siblings, parents, grandparents..."

Biden: "As we mourn today in Maine, this tragedy opens a painful, painful wounds all across the country."

Biden: "We are here on behalf of the American people to grieve with you."

Biden: "We know your heart is broken, but we also know your spirits are strong."

Maine Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King also spoke at Fri.'s vigil.

According to the Portland Press Herald, King is working on legislation to ban "aspects" of military-style assault rifles.
