Sen. Lindsey Graham and Democratic challenger Jaime Harrison clashed Fri. in their final in-person debate before Nov. 3.

After surging in statewide polls in Sept., Harrison has fallen back, trailing Graham by six points in an Oct. NYT poll.

Graham is favored to win South Carolina's Senate race this Nov. with a 77% chance, per FiveThirtyEight's forecast.

However, both Real Clear Politics and the Cook Political Report have rated the Senate race a "toss-up."

The 2020 presidential race loomed large over the Senate debate, as Graham defended Trump's handling of COVID-19.

Harrison and Graham clashed over health care. Graham said that the ACA would lead to "socialized medicine."

4 rural hospitals have closed in SC since 2012. Harrison blamed Republicans for turning down the ACA's Medicaid expansion.

Fri.'s debate was also the first since Justice Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation to the Supreme Court.

Graham accused Democrats of "[declaring] war on all things conservative when it comes to the court."

Harrison criticized Graham for politicizing the court: "Justice is supposed to be blind."

When asked about climate change, Graham admitted to the moderators that it was "real."

Harrison said Graham's statement as "all talk," noting Senate inaction on climate change.

Harrison: "...we need action in order to save the green earth, this globe we live on right now."

Graham also spent the debate attempted to link Harrison to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Harrison remarked:

Harrison: "I know it's Halloween, but, senator, come on now. Let's talk about South Carolina."

As of Wed., 1M+ South Carolinians have voted in the election — nearly triple of the early vote count in 2016. (The State)
