Sanders: "What our country must not be involved in is making the horrific...situation in Gaza worse."

The Senate on Thu. voted 97–0 to pass a bipartisan resolution affirming the chamber's support for Israel.

99 of the chamber's 100 senators co-sponsored the bill; Republican Sen. Rand Paul was the only holdout, per CNN.

The resolution notes that the US "stands ready to assist Israel with emergency resupply or other security...needs."

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Thu.: "As long as there is a USA...Israel will never stand alone."

Several senators also voiced their support Thu. for further military aid to Israel in its campaign against Hamas.
