In 2013, Kapish and his classmates competed in the Ross School of Business's 6th Annual Stock Pitch Competition against 20 other schools. Students from over the country compete to demonstrate their aptitude for stock selection, analysis, and pitching. Over the course of two grueling rounds, teams present their recommendations to a judging panel of industry professionals from asset management firms and hedge funds. Kapish and his classmates won the challenge by pitching McDermott International, an offshore EPCI company.
