Dr. Ryan Polselli is a world-renowned specialist in the area of three-dimensional (3D) breast imaging. The University of South Florida School of Medicine awarded him his medical degree in 2006, and he went on to finish a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Emory University in 2011. After there, he went on to finish a fellowship in breast imaging while working as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital and the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University in Atlanta. As part of his fellowship training, Dr. Polselli worked with faculty who were considered to be some of the world's leading authorities in the field of breast imaging, including members of the first BI-RADS committee, which was responsible for the current FDA-adopted standard in mammography reporting that is still in use today, members of the ACR appropriateness advisory committees, and other distinguished faculty. As the Director of Breast Imaging at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, Dr. Ryan Polselli got his start in the medical field. Most proud of his accomplishments during his tenure are the improvements in patient care that have resulted from a significant increase in the cancer detection rate among patients who have undergone mammography, as well as the implementation of cutting-edge diagnostic technology such as MRI guided breast biopsies. During the time Ryan Polselli served as medical director, the hospital received the prestigious distinction of Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) from the American College of Radiology, as well as full accreditation from the American College of Radiology. from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), as well as full accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). As the primary interpreter for 3D breast imaging at four successful outpatient imaging centers, Dr. Polselli has been selected by the centers' directors. His annual mammography interpretation workload exceeds 20,000 2D and 3D mammograms, and he has conducted well over 1,000 stereotactic, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guided breast biopsies. He owns patents on a number of breast imaging medical devices that enhance patient care while also lowering the risk of medical mistakes. Dr. Ryan Polselli believes that the most significant opportunity for improvement in the field of breast imaging currently exists in improving the quality of mammographic interpretation through the use of fellowship-trained breast imagers and making breast cancer screening more accessible and convenient for patients by directly linking mammography services to patient primary care, both of which are currently being pursued. It is this conviction that serves as the foundation for MammoLink®.
