Victor Sheverda, an Assistant Project Manager in Parker, Colorado, is dedicated to transforming underutilized spaces into vibrant residential and commercial developments. He is driven by the process of seeing construction projects through from the initial concept to their completion, knowing that these spaces will ultimately contribute to the success stories of those who inhabit them.
He was naturally drawn to the construction field from childhood, influenced by his parents, who owned a construction business. During his studies at Colorado State University, he took on leadership roles, notably serving as president of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) chapter and participating actively on the Integrated Project Delivery ASC Competition Team. These roles involved tackling real-world construction management issues and developing strategic solutions that were presented to panels of industry professionals.
His career ambitions are enhancing his qualifications with Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certifications, aspiring to lead significant construction projects, and possibly starting a consulting firm to advance professional practices in the construction industry.
His introduction to construction came through his family's company, which specialized in using Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) technology for residential buildings. This innovative construction method improves energy efficiency and increases the building's resilience to environmental challenges, shaping its understanding of quality and sustainable building practices.
From a young age, he exhibited a strong commitment to excellence and leadership, honed through competitive sports and academic endeavors. He excelled in tennis during his school years, achieving numerous awards and leading his teams to regional and state championship victories.
Vik Sheverda spent a significant portion of his childhood in Hawaii, where he developed a deep appreciation for the natural world. This appreciation has influenced his professional ethos, leading him to champion sustainable construction practices. While at university, he initiated a project to implement Piezoelectric Tiles in high-traffic areas, aiming to generate energy in an eco-friendly manner.
He initially enrolled in Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2015 but quickly realized that Construction Management was where his true passion lay. He transferred to Colorado State University, graduated with a 3.78 GPA, was honored with the Sigma Lambda Chi Honor Society membership, and consistently made the Dean's List.
In his current role at i2 Construction in Parker, CO, he oversees various construction projects, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards from start to finish. Previously, he gained significant experience as a construction estimator and project engineer at Saunders Construction in Denver, where he was involved in substantial projects, including a pioneering heat recovery system.
One of his most memorable professional experiences was his internship at the United States Capitol, where he was involved in preserving the historic features of the building, an experience he considers a highlight and an honor of his career.
Outside of his professional commitments, he is actively involved in community service, participating in initiatives like CM Cares and Habitat for Humanity, where he applies his expertise to improve living conditions for disadvantaged populations. He also supports the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, helping to preserve wildlife habitats. For leisure, he enjoys exploring the rugged landscapes of Colorado through hiking and ATV riding, and he keeps physically active with Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, boxing, skiing, and weight lifting. Additionally, he is enthusiastic about information security and Python coding and exploring their applications in the construction industry. Victor Sheverda remains committed to leveraging his expertise to contribute positively to the construction industry and community.
