Jem Sirrine is the PGA/ECR team lead for International Customs Clearance at FedEx Logistics in Memphis, Tennessee. He has been with the company for nearly three years and plays a key role in managing the clearance of international shipments. His responsibilities include communicating with government agencies, training new agents, troubleshooting issues with high-value shipments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. He also works to identify solutions for minimizing delays in the clearance process and ensuring smooth operations for his team. Jem started his career in athletic training as an intern for the Cleveland Indians in Winter Haven, Florida, after earning his Bachelor’s in Athletic Training from Appalachian State University. In this role, he assisted in rehabilitating and treating player injuries across both minor and major leagues. After his internship, he became a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Central Florida, where he obtained a Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology. In 2000, Sirrine took on the role of Assistant Athletic Trainer at Winter Park High School, where he worked with the Head Athletic Trainer to provide coverage for all varsity and junior varsity sports. He performed pre-practice treatments, supervised athletic training interns, and taught Personal Health, Fitness, and Team Sports courses. He then moved to Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida, where he was appointed Head Athletic Trainer. In this capacity, he managed 16 varsity sports, oversaw the department’s budget, and worked closely with orthopedic surgeons to expand the Sports Medicine team. He also taught courses on Athletic Training, First Aid, and CPR. Later, Jem worked as an Athletic Trainer for Bond Clinic in Winter Haven. His role included building relationships within the community, expanding partnerships with local schools, providing athletic training services, conducting patient evaluations, and managing insurance billing for the clinic’s Physical Therapy Department. Sirrine spent 11 years as head athletic trainer at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, where he managed a staff of certified athletic trainers and collaborated with various medical professionals to enhance the university's Sports Medicine program. He also helped design new athletic training facilities and continued teaching courses in athletic training and First Aid. In his current position at FedEx Logistics, Jem ensures that all regulatory requirements are met, resolves shipment issues, and trains new team members. His work continues to contribute to the smooth operation of his team, ensuring efficient and effective handling of international shipments. Jem Sirrine’s career reflects his commitment to service, leadership, and process improvement, and he remains dedicated to enhancing operations at FedEx Logistics.
