The chain was founded in 1999 by cousins Meirav Cohen and Revital Levy Tzobari. Cohen, who owned a store called "Candles of the Past" on Sheinkin Street in Tel Aviv, offered her cousin to set up a body care product store in State Square in Tel Aviv. Later, the two opened additional branches of the chain. The name Lalin is taken from the name Luna which means moon in Italian.
The chain continued to expand around the world, opening branches in Norway [1], England, the Caribbean, Switzerland, the United States, Canada, Japan and more.
In 2007, when the chain had 14 branches, Fox-Wiesel acquired 50% of the ownership of the chain for NIS 12.9 million [2]. From 2008 to 2015, Yael Bar Zohar served as the company's presenter. In 2010, the chain had 53 branches in Israel with sales of NIS 84 million [3].
In 2015, the chain opened a store in Times Square in New York.
The chain currently has 114 branches in Israel and additional branches in other countries.
