Berry is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She is also recently been named the Lawrence J. Giacoletto Endowed Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering for 2021-2024. Berry has a special passion for diversifying the engineering profession by recruiting more underrepresented populations and women to the field. She feels that the profession should reflect the world that we live in order to solve the unique problems that we face. She is co-founder of the Rose building undergraduate diversity program, Rose-Hulman multidisciplinary minor in robotics, Black In Engineering and Black In Robotics. Her research interests are in robotics education, interface design, human-robot interaction, and increasing underrepresented populations in STEM fields. Due to her work in engineering education, diversity and robotics, she was named one of 30 Women in Robotics You Need to Know About, awarded the TechPoint Foundation for Youth Bridge Builder Award, FIRST Indiana Gamechanger, and named an American Society of Engineering Education Fellow.
