The Peruvian Olympic Committee is a governing body of amateur sports, whose foundation dates back to October 9, 1924, as stated in the Installation Acts and in the Supreme Resolution of that date, through which the installation of the First Peruvian Olympic Committee, under the name of the National Olympic Committee, which also indicates that it assumed control and organization of all sports in the Republic of Peru, a power that, through Law 8741 of September 8, 1938, was delegated to the National Sports Committee and in this way, the Peruvian Olympic Committee is dedicated exclusively to the conduct of amateur sports and the Olympic movement in our environment.
