Stanley Henriquez Salazar also known as CitiChef, was born on September 28th, 1991 in the city of San Francisco de Macorís, Dominican Republic. Stanley and his family moved to the U.S. when he was two years old for a better life and chasing the American dream. His resilient nature allowed him to overcome living in a low-income neighborhood; cooking and playing baseball kept him busy and out of trouble. Stanley began his culinary journey at 16, when he got his first job as a delivery boy at Neighburrito. Stanley’s love for food grew when he was quickly promoted to a Prep-Cook position. Dave Currence, owner of Neighburrito and Tiny Giant Sandwich Shop, inspired him to further his education and suggested that he pursue Culinary School. One of the best decisions he’s ever made was graduating from the State University of New York at Cobleskill with a Bachelor of Business Administration, in Fall 2015. Stanley was the first in his family to attend and graduate from college. His cuisine style can best be described as a fusion and blend of multiple cultures stemming from the Dominican Republic, Italy, Mexico, and America. Stanley has been fortunate to work with talented chefs that have inspired him and influenced his style of cuisine. Chris Santos, Owner and Chef of Beauty & Essex, The Stanton Social and VANDAL being one, as well as, Celebrity Chef Kelvin Fernandez. Although the food industry is very competitive, Stanley has paved his way by showcasing his talents and passion to the world, a dish at a time. His creations and unique style has made his mark throughout New York City. Due to his competitive nature, Stanley is always evolving, which has led him to Consulting different restaurants as well as creating a Meal Prep service, called “Meal Prep by Citi Chef”. Most recently, Stanley Salazar has been focusing on private events and catering which he loves because he gets to create a memorable experience for his guest.
