It all started with a Mr. Pine’s lox bagel when I was barely 4 years old. Hand sliced in front of your eyes, paper thin, it was always perfectly smoked, and of course it melted in your mouth like butter. Wedged between schmear and 2 sides of a bagel, I could hardly wait to walk out the door before I took my first bite. From that day onwards, I have loved good quality lox and a soft bagel. I have carried this moment with me through my life. Having lived in London, California and now Sydney I have longed to re create that same experience for people that I had all those years ago. Food brings people together and traditionally food is the glue that holds it all together, but in our case, the schmear holds it all together! I have so many fond memories around food and the coming together of friends, family and community. It it with this energy in mind that Lox In A Box was born. I come from a long line of home chefs and food entrepreneurs. And im proud to continue this family tradition. Adding my own take on some traditional classics is what you will find down at the deli. From cured fish to dips and schmears, latkes with apple sauce and sour cream and of course a side of chutzpah! All the recipe’s come from both my grandmas, one of polish descent and one of German descent. Both Linny and Nanna have crossed checked recipes and said we are good to go! We look forward to breaking bread and sharing good luck & prosperity with you.
