New Zealand Rugby League is a not-for-profit national sports organisation charged with the growth, development, and delivery of the game of rugby league in New Zealand. Rugby league has played a significant part in New Zealand sport for over 100 years. Formed on April 25th 1910, New Zealand Rugby League (NZRL) is the governing body for the sport of rugby league and is charged with the growth, development and delivery of the code in Aotearoa. The NZRL catchment is divided into seven Zones that govern and service the grassroots game; Northland, Akarana, Counties Manukau, Upper Central, Mid Central, Wellington and Southland. Within those Zones, the sport is implemented throughout the regions by sixteen Districts.
