CHRIS 180 was founded in Georgia in 1981 as a collaboration between the Junior League of Atlanta and the Menninger Foundation to bridge gaps in foster care services for children who required residential mental health treatment, but who did not need institutionalization/hospitalization. We accomplish our mission by ensuring child and family well-being through mental health treatment and stable living environments; preventing family problems through education, counseling and teaching life skills; and impacting public policies through advocacy.
We are one of the Southeast’s premiere mental health, child welfare and family service organizations. We are a leader in Georgia and a founding member of multiple collaborations to help children and families. Today, we save, serve and protect thousands of abused and neglected children while empowering families through positive, solution focused programming which includes: behavioral health, life/social/vocational skill development, group homes, community services, training and housing programs.
