Crama Viticola Corcova

@viticolacorcova
The Corcova Viticultural Company is a beautiful story, a conversation among friends turned into a successful reality. Owned by Michel Roy and Șerban Dâmboviceanu, the business was founded in 2005. At that time, out of the 470 hectares of vineyards once owned by the Corcova State Agricultural Enterprise, only 18 hectares remained, and the cellars, built by Prince Anton Bibescu at the beginning of the 20th century, were in ruins. Today, the Corcova Roy & Dâmboviceanu vineyard spans 70 hectares, where traditional grape varieties of the region, which were present during the Bibești estate era, have been replanted. These varieties are included in the authorized DOC Mehedinți-Corcova varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Fetească Neagră, Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, as well as two new varieties, Syrah and Viognier. Additionally, between 2008 and 2009, the cellars were completely renovated and modernized, equipped with modern machinery and equipment to facilitate processing.
