ORAMA ELPIDAS Association (“Vision of Hope”) is a non-profit organization founded in 2012. Ιs the most recent addition to the medical, psychological and social care services offered by the ELPIDA association of Friends of Children with Cancer to children suffering from serious illnesses and their families. The association’s primary aim was the creation of a volunteer Bone Marrow Donor Center for patients, both children and adults, who need a Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) , and lack a suitable sibling donor, therefore they are seeking for a compatible unrelated volunteer donor. ORAMA ELPIDAS Bone Marrow Donor Center” operates under the authorization of the Ministry of Health and the Hellenic Transplant Organization (HTO), in accordance with the regulations of the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA). Another project in progress of ORAMA ELPIDAS is a Reference Research Laboratory of excellence for paediatric cancer in the Paediatric Oncology Unit “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis - ELPIDA”, St, Sophia Clildren’s Hospital Athens.
