We are a governamental and non-profit network of schools and communities in disaster prevention, which is a program of the National Center for Monitoring and Early Warning of Natural Disasters (Cemaden), a research institution linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovations of Brazil (MCTI). Cemaden Educação has been operating since 2014 alongside school communities and in partnership with various institutions. Cemaden Educação aims to contribute to the generation of a culture of perception and prevention of disaster risks. It seeks to collaborate in the construction of sustainable and resilient societies through the promotion and dissemination of scientific knowledge, as well as the development of educational strategies involving action research, communication, and mobilization for risk management and reduction of vulnerabilities to disasters.
