Montserrat’s passion for agave spirits starts in the land with plethora of agaves: Mexico. In 2015 she became Florida's On-Premise Manager for Italy’s largest privately held winery (Enoitalia) where she successfully launched a new category of spirits with roots in Latin America. In 2018 she was appointed as a Brand Ambassador for LVMH’s first Tequila: Volcan de mi Tierra, contributing to the growth and expansion of the brand in Florida becoming the top market in the US. In 2020 she was promoted to Brand Development Manager creating and leading a number of programs and experiential campaigns. She was twice awarded the T distinctive in Tequila by the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT) and the Master Mezcalier certification by Asociacion Pro-Cultura; Mexico’s only recognised certification in Mezcal by the Mexican Department of Education (SEP). She is also a Court of Master Sommelier certified (WSET), Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS) and ISSP-CSP Certified Sustainability Professional. Proficient in 7 languages including Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, English, French, Hebrew and Guarani. In 2022 she was appointed as a Global Brand Ambassador for The Lost Explorer Mezcal, "Most awarded mezcal in 2021 worldwide" which mission was to set the standards in sustainability in the Mezcal category. She is a proud member of the “Mujeres del Maguey y el Mezcal Oaxaca chapter” and promotes the category as an advocate for the women in the industry, independent producers and as an influencer and educator of agave distillates worldwide.
