The Toronto Animated Image Society (TAIS) is honoured to launch 21 commissioned gifs by Toronto artist Carolyn Tripp that conveys messages of support for survivors of sexual violence and harassment. Available for free for use by advocates for online campaigns–via GIPHY. Created by Carolyn Tripp as a result of community-based discussion and consultation with Jenni-Leigh O’Neill– a student, survivor, and human rights advocate; Jenna MacKay–a community worker, researcher, writer, and survivor; and Jenn Snider–an artist, curator and cultural worker/TAIS Managing Director, the resulting series intertwines important messages and iconographic images that speak to the need to challenge common myths about sexual assault and harassment. Toronto Animated Image Society (TAIS) is a non-profit art centre dedicated to the art of animation. TAIS supports independent non-commercial animation art making, with a focus on skills development. We present animation to audiences via screenings, exhibitions, and through presentations by guest artists. We regularly partner with other groups and organizations to connect with new audiences, and to inspire artists of all ages to explore animation.
