Zena Marchant was a student at Penn State University who has long been passionate about animal welfare. As an undergraduate, she volunteered her time at the animal shelter on campus, and learned about the importance of providing proper care and medical treatment to abandoned animals. Zena was impressed by Penn State's commitment to animal welfare, as the university's PennVet department partners with many leading Pennsylvania animal care organizations. The department also offers teaching and instructional services related to animal care to middle and high school students.
