Mitch Rice is a recumbent bike-riding, folksinger naturalist who loves to spend time in the woods photographing mushrooms and flowers. A former candle maker, leathersmith, ditch digger, tree surgeon, grape picker, mail sorter, baker, stone mason, carpenter, and restaurant manager, he is known around Bloomington for his involvement with a variety of community organizations. Those include Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, Bloomington Farmers’ Market, EPA-PCB cleanup, Harmony School, CARR, Bloomington Voice, Mongolia Society, Girls Club, Bloomington Bike-Ped Commission, Bloomingfoods, Wild Grove Community Garden, and the Bloomington Community Orchard.
