Mario Payne is a U.S. Army veteran, Certified Financial Planner, and the founder of TOAMS Financial, an independent advisory firm headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. With over 15 years of experience, he has dedicated his career to helping clients grow their wealth, plan for the future, and alleviate financial stress. Through his work with initiatives such as The Relax Estate and Payneful Profits, he has provided individuals and families with practical solutions to achieve long-term financial security. Mario J. Payne was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. After completing high school, he earned a degree in Business Administration from Tennessee State University. He later furthered his education by completing a degree in financial planning through the College for Financial Planning. His commitment to his profession earned him the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation. These achievements place him among fewer than 2 percent of licensed African American advisors who hold the CFP® credential. While attending college, Mario joined the United States Army and served as a Financial Sergeant during Operation Enduring Freedom. In this position, he assisted fellow soldiers in managing their pay, making sound financial decisions, and planning for the future during demanding and uncertain times. He began his career in financial services at American Income Life Insurance Company, where he learned to communicate financial topics clearly to working families. He later worked at Edward Jones, supporting retirees, families, and business owners in developing strategies to prepare for the future and manage investments. These roles helped him strengthen his ability to deliver client-focused guidance and practical financial strategies. In 2013, Payne founded TOAMS Financial, which stands for “Tithes Offering Alms Means Stewardship.” The firm, based in Jacksonville, serves clients across the United States and internationally. Under his leadership, TOAMS became one of the few African-American-owned SEC-registered investment advisory firms. Mario created Payneful Profits, a YouTube channel that simplifies economic trends, stock market activity, and financial planning strategies. His insights have also appeared in outlets such as Forbes and Cheddar News. He co-founded LETB, the first Black-owned, AI-supported Exchange-Traded Fund, alongside Let Bob, a tool designed to help retail investors make data-backed decisions. Payne also developed The Relax Estate, an AI-powered platform that simplifies the creation of wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. He actively supports the community through board service with the Jacksonville Public Library, the Tennessee State University Foundation, and Knots 4 Kids, helping advance literacy, scholarships, and mentorship. His involvement with House Wars supports property revitalization and provides families access to stable housing.
