Sydney Youth Orchestras is the leading orchestral training and education provider in New South Wales, founded as a single orchestra in 1973 by the visionary music educator and conductor, Peter Seymour. For almost half a century SYO has grown to become a community of over 550 young musicians, aged 6-24, from all over Sydney and New South Wales. We gather weekly for rehearsals in inner suburban Sydney and Western Sydney, in 13 different ensembles carefully constructed to match skill, age and experience.
