In 2012, Dr. Aaron Rossi earned his medical degree from the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine after graduating from Elmhurst College in 2006. While a medical student, he discovered his passion for business management in private medical practice. He developed a proven model that helped grow a Central Illinois single-provider practice into a robust multi-speciality group. He quickly quadrupled the practice's revenue in less than four years and continues to help private physicians navigate the ever-changing healthcare landscape.
In March 2018, Dr. Rossi purchased PAL Health Technologies, a forty-year-old national prescription custom foot and ankle orthotic fabrication laboratory. By June 2019, he founded Reditus Laboratories LLC with eight employees focusing on dermatopathology and histology. In December of the same year, the laboratory acquired its first real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) machine to accurately diagnose soft tissue and wound infections and promptly initiate care.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, Aaron Rossi temporarily shifted production at PAL from custom orthoses to face shields for first responders and hospital systems nationally. Reditus also provided PCR COVID-19 testing nationwide through notable partnerships like the Illinois Department of Corrections, United States Customs and Border Patrol, and several universities.
Reditus Labs performed approximately five million COVID RT-PCR tests using an FDA EUA SARS-CoV2 molecular assay. It performs the gold standard of SARS-CoV2 testing by using real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction to detect viral nucleic acid effectively. The laboratory currently processes up to 35,000 SARS-CoV2 tests daily, providing results in 24 hours or less.
Besides COVID-19 testing, Reditus Laboratories expanded its capabilities to genetic sequencing, specifically looking for variants among randomly selected positive COVID-19 samples. This testing provides invaluable information to agencies like the Illinois Department of Public Health, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and GSAID.
Dr. Rossi donated over $3,000,000 in COVID-19 tests to Peoria Public Schools and Unit 5 in Bloomington, Illinois, and continued his philanthropic work by donating to several local colleges. Aaron Rossi partnered with OSF by donating a million dollars to help construct the new 180,000-square-foot state-of-the-art cancer institute. Dr. Rossi's Rossi Family endowed scholarship is awarded annually to student-athletes at Bradley University, where his foundation provided a substantial donation to hire an employee to support technology commercialization services.
Reditus Laboratories has over 350 employees and continues its pursuit of laboratory excellence under Dr. Rossi's leadership style and hands-on approach.
