Alexander Staffa earned an Associate of Science degree from Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs and later attended Metropolitan State University of Denver. After spending 29 years in Colorado, he relocated to Amesbury, Massachusetts, where he plans to complete his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He has applied to several universities in the state to continue his education and move closer to his long-term academic and professional goals.
While considering his university options, he is living near Boston, Massachusetts. Originally from Louisville, Colorado, he now resides in a coastal area renowned for its seaside charm and vibrant tourism. Being surrounded by visitors from diverse backgrounds brings energy and variety to his days as he plans his next steps.
His interest in chemistry comes from a natural curiosity about how the world functions. He is fascinated by atoms, molecules, and the chemical reactions that influence the food we eat, the medicines we use, and the environment we depend on. He feels at home in a laboratory, where he can experiment, observe, and apply theory to real-world challenges. Whether studying chemical compounds, analyzing materials, or exploring sustainable solutions, he values accuracy, discovery, and the pursuit of understanding.
He combines logical thinking with creativity, which helps him visualize unseen processes and find practical solutions. His education in chemistry provides a foundation for a wide range of career paths, including pharmaceuticals, environmental science, forensics, and education.
Born in Louisville, Colorado, he began skiing at the age of five and grew up near ski destinations such as Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin. During his time in Steamboat Springs, known as “Ski Town, USA,” he skied 100 days a year for three seasons between 2013 and 2016. Skiing offers him both challenge and peace, helping him stay active and connected to nature.
Outside of skiing, he enjoys dirt biking, hiking, tubing, and playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, which spark his creativity and problem-solving skills. Through his education, work, and passions, Alexander Staffa continues to learn, explore, and find meaning in each new experience.
