The collection of the museum spans 600 years of art – from the 14th century to the present day. It covers European painting from the Middle Ages to the present, international modern art, sculptures from the 16th to the 21st century and outstanding works of media art. The Department of Prints and Drawings is a particularly important feature of the collection with works by Albrecht Duerer, Rembrandt and Paul Renouard. The more than 200,000 hand drawings and prints represent one of Europe’s largest and best collections of prints and drawings.
