Matthew Bissell studied psychology at Pitzer College and has spent much of his career in work that depends on understanding people. He supported people experiencing homelessness on Richardson Bay as a Water-Based Rehousing Stabilization Specialist with Episcopal Community Services, then assisted clients with daily living as an In-Home Support Specialist in Oakland. In July 2025 he joined The Broker Group as a Financial Consultant, where he advises clients on life insurance and retirement planning by listening first and following up over time. Matthew was born and raised in Oakland, California, and is the father of a son and a daughter.
