Jorge Mario Zuleta (b. June 15, 1973) is a Costa Rican filmmaker, editor, and educator. He earned a degree in Film and Television from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 1999 and pursued Dramatic Arts studies at the University of Costa Rica. His academic background also includes training in design and visual communication.
Since the early 2000s, Zuleta has developed a multidisciplinary body of work, combining experimental film, digital art, sound exploration, and analog techniques. His short films Soft Calm (2015), Cuando Ella Vuelva (2018), and Frondio (2019) have been selected for official screenings at Latin American film festivals and alternative art spaces.
Zuleta's digital contributions-including AI-generated art, GIFs, and open-licensed photography-have reached international audiences through platforms like Giphy and Pexels. His creative practice reflects a strong interest in reusing materials, disrupting conventional narrative structures, and exploring memory through visual fragmentation.
From 2008 to 2025, he has worked as a university-level educator in Costa Rica and Colombia, teaching film, visual arts, digital design, and emerging technologies. He has also served as a mentor and advisor in collaborative and interdisciplinary educational settings.
In 2025, his work focuses on audiovisual production that blends analog formats with experimental digital aesthetics. He continues to develop personal and collaborative projects grounded in artistic research and the intersection of cinema, pedagogy, and technological media.
