Neil Evan Ross, MD, is a physician and business professional with a foundation in anesthesiology, healthcare operations, and clinical leadership. He earned his academic credentials from Tulane University and Tulane University School of Medicine. Throughout his professional career, Dr. Neil Ross has held a leadership role in establishing and managing anesthesia practices, including Summit Anesthesia and Pinnacle Anesthesia Consultants. He currently resides in Boca Raton, Florida, where he leads Diabetic Practice Solutions LLC.
Neil was born in Chicago, Illinois, where he completed his high school education at Ida Crown Jewish Academy. After graduation, he moved to New Orleans to attend Tulane University, where he pursued and completed a Bachelor of Science degree. He continued his education at Tulane University School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1986. His academic path laid the groundwork for his significant contributions in both clinical and administrative roles within the medical field.
Neil began his postgraduate training with a surgical internship at Boston University Medical Center. The role introduced him to the high demands of hospital-based care, requiring quick and accurate decision-making. After completing his internship, he returned to New York to enter a residency in anesthesiology at New York University Medical Center. His growing commitment to the specialty led him to pursue a fellowship in cardiac anesthesia at NYU, where he worked with complex surgical cases and strengthened his clinical skill set.
In 1990, Neil joined Sheridan Healthcare in Hollywood, Florida. He remained with the organization until 1996, serving as Director of Cardiac Anesthesia. His responsibilities extended beyond clinical duties, as he contributed to the development of contracts and regional expansion efforts. During this time, he also became involved in the administrative side of healthcare, learning systems related to scheduling, compliance, billing, and communication between departments.
Neil relocated to New Jersey in 1996 to become a partner at Summit Anesthesia Associates. The practice delivered anesthesia services at multiple hospitals, including Mountainside Hospital and Trinitas Hospital. By 1999, he had become the managing member, where his responsibilities included negotiating contracts, leading hiring initiatives, supervising provider performance, and ensuring alignment with healthcare standards.
In 2008, Neil launched Pinnacle Anesthesia Consultants in Livingston, New Jersey. As the owner, he managed all aspects of the anesthesia practice, from clinical oversight to business strategy and operations. The practice performed well under his leadership, generating over $3 million in annual revenue. He continued to deliver clinical services, provide emergency coverage, and supervise medical personnel until 2012. That year, he experienced a debilitating stroke that required his retirement from anesthesia practice.
Neil shifted his focus in 2016 and joined Omniscient Financial LLC, a family-owned business. In this role, he advised on equipment financing and contributed to financial compliance. He worked with the company until 2024, applying his operational and management experience in a non-clinical setting.
In 2024, Neil became involved with Diabetic Practice Solutions LLC, a company created to support healthcare providers in delivering structured diabetes care. The focus of his work has been on helping practices achieve stronger patient outcomes while maintaining efficient administrative processes and financial performance.
Although no longer in clinical practice, Neil maintains an active medical license in Florida, which is currently inactive. He is a member of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He earned board certification in anesthesiology in 1991 and voluntarily renewed it in 2008.
In 2019, Neil relocated from New Jersey to Boca Raton, Florida. The move brought him closer to family and allowed him to explore new areas of professional and personal interest. He continues to stay active through regular weightlifting and enjoys collecting wine. Neil also supports several synagogues, reflecting his ongoing commitment to community involvement.
