Congressman Joe Mullins has developed a career defined by steady leadership, practical decision-making, and a strong connection to community needs. He serves as CEO and president of The Mullins Companies, which includes Mullins Properties and Mullins Sports & Entertainment. What started as a small group of business ventures has expanded into a diversified operation spanning real estate, sports, entertainment, and media. His work reflects a consistent focus on long-term stability rather than short-term gains.
Raised in Evans, Georgia, Joe Mullins of Augusta learned early the value of discipline and responsibility. During high school, he participated in athletics, theater, and leadership organizations such as FBLA, Jr. Achievement, and 4H. These experiences helped shape his communication skills and introduced him to the importance of teamwork and accountability. He later earned a BBA in Business Management from the University of Georgia, followed by studies at UCLA under Hollywood agent Henry Holmes, where he gained insight into the entertainment industry.
Joe’s early professional years were spent in sports and entertainment, representing athletes and entertainers who later became nationally recognized and inducted into the NFL and boxing Hall of Fame. Through this work, he developed skills in negotiation, trust building, and talent management. He also interned with the Anthony Robbins companies, gaining experience that strengthened his leadership and organizational skills.
His entrepreneurial focus expanded into multiple industries across the Southeast, including restaurants, franchise stores, construction, and real estate. His real estate portfolio grew to include more than 800 multifamily units and several commercial properties. During challenging periods, including the COVID-19 storm, Joe guided his teams through recovery, restoring occupancy levels and financial stability. His business approach often involves acquiring distressed properties and investing in improvements that support local economies.
Public service became another essential chapter in his career. Joe Mullins, Flagler, served as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners, where he worked on initiatives related to broadband expansion, mental health funding, disaster recovery, and fiscal responsibility. He also served as Vice Chair on the National Association of Counties Broadband Committee, advocating for rural connectivity.
In the media, Joe hosts the radio program “Live, Work, Shop, Play in Florida,” airing on Salem Media radio and online platforms. The show reaches millions of listeners and features discussions with leaders from politics, business, sports, and entertainment. Philanthropy remains central to his work, with Mullins Charities raising more than $10 million for organizations including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Salvation Army. Congressman Joe Mullins has also supported local efforts such as “Shop with a Doc.” With more than fourteen years sober, he actively supports opioid addiction recovery and awareness.
