Dr. Nishi Patel, M.D., is a dedicated cardiovascular specialist whose work is shaping the future of heart failure and critical cardiac care. Based at WellSpan York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, Dr. Patel is recognized for his dedication to clinical excellence and patient advocacy, particularly for individuals facing the most severe forms of heart disease. He also holds the prestigious position of National Director of Cardiac Imaging at Access Physicians/SOC Telemedicine, where he directs national programs to enhance access to expert cardiac imaging and telehealth care in rural and underserved communities. Dr. Patel’s educational background is extensive. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Drexel University in 2009 and subsequently earned his Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University College of Medicine in 2013. After completing his internship and residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, he pursued fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Patel is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology, Echocardiography, Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT), and Nuclear Cardiology. At WellSpan York Hospital, Dr. Patel plays a pivotal role in developing advanced therapies for critically ill patients, including the use of ECMO, Impella, and LVAD support. As National Medical Director of Cardiac Imaging for Access Telecare, he has championed the integration of advanced imaging and cardiovascular diagnostics in rural hospitals, closing critical care gaps and enabling local physicians to provide expert care in their communities.
