@rafael-amaral
For over 15 years, Rafael Amaral has contributed to the renewable energy industry by helping deliver utility-scale power systems across various continents. With a background in electrical engineering, he understood from the start that credibility in this field is built through consistent performance in real-world conditions. His work has focused on keeping turbines operating, maintaining stable grids, and ensuring teams complete projects safely and on time. Rafael currently serves as Executive Vice President at a renewable energy company, with full P&L responsibility for approximately $220 million in revenue. His responsibilities span field services, project execution, repowering, and asset management, supporting wind, solar, and battery storage operations across North America. Rafael's career began in Brazil, where he graduated as valedictorian in Electrical Engineering. Early experience designing high-voltage substations and electrical systems helped him develop a strong understanding of how infrastructure performs under operational stress. This technical background has been a key factor in his ability to lead complex energy projects with long-term impact. In 2011, Rafael Amaral of Florida joined a global energy company, taking on roles in wind commissioning and site leadership. He managed turbine delivery, coordinated engineering tasks, and worked closely with clients. He later led service operations across several Latin American countries, overseeing a $10 million portfolio and approximately 120 employees. These roles helped him develop the operational structure and adaptability needed for managing remote and diverse teams. He then advanced to global leadership, responsible for workforce planning for around 1,600 field employees in 25 countries. He later oversaw global operations valued at nearly $190 million, focusing on improving safety, reducing rework, and increasing consistency through lean practices. He went on to lead operations in North America and the broader Americas region, managing over 1,200 employees and revenues up to $160 million. In 2024, he directed the integration of more than 10 acquired companies into a unified platform. That same year, he became Chief Operating Officer, leading construction and operations across the U.S. and Canada. Throughout his career, Rafael Amaral has remained committed to disciplined execution, operational reliability, and the delivery of long-term value in renewable energy.
