Timaru’s Blackham family have been leaders in local real estate since 1962, when Dick Blackham established the firm. The company has now been in the real estate business for three generations, and for 27 years it has been part of the Harcourts Real Estate group, established in 1888. The firm is now headed by Riley Blackham, who took over from his father David on April 1, 2018. Harcourts Blackham & Co is the biggest real estate agency throughout the Timaru district - and South Canterbury - in terms of team members, sales and offices. And Harcourts itself is the largest real estate group in the country.
