The futsal section of the club was set up in 2007 and entered its first competitive competition in 2012 in the form of the FAI Futsal Cup. Later that year the team entered its first season in the Emerald Futsal League. Irish Futsal has gone through many transformations in the time up until now but despite this St. Ita’s has successfully managed to maintain a strong presence within the sport. In its infancy, the futsal section drew from a small selection of players who showed interest and has now become a thriving setup. The original goal of the setup was to instill a ‘culture of futsal’ within the club; we feel this has created a strong platform for our development which led to the club being a constant presence within the futsal community.
