The Panther Island-Central City Flood Control Project is about rerouting a section of the Trinity River due north of Downtown Fort Worth and creating a mixed-used district in this rezoned area known as Panther Island. By rerouting a section of the river, it is helping provide flood protection to more than 2,400 acres of established Fort Worth neighborhoods. This project is geared towards the future of Fort Worth, Texas.
