Special Olympics Macau (MSO) is one of the programs of Special Olympics International. Organized by a group of volunteers caring for people with intellectual disabilities (ID), it was officially established and registered as a non-profit organization in 1987. Adhering to the values and mission of Special Olympics International, MSO believes that people with ID can also participate and give full play to their abilities in the local community. MSO mainly provides two different services to people with intellectual disabilities, "Sports" and "Social Welfare". Department of Social Welfare is composed of three services: Community Care, Vocational Rehabilitation and Special Education Support and cooperating with government departments.
