Thanks That We Can (Díky, že můžem) is a non-profit association founded in 2014 as a student initiative aimed at strengthening democratic culture in the Czech Republic, reminding people of the value of freedom, and supporting human rights and civic engagement across generations. Today, the organization consists of more than 50 members from all over the Czech Republic who believe in openness, solidarity, responsibility, and empathy, and that freedom is not a given but something that needs to be nurtured over the long term. A key pillar of the organization's activities is educating and activating the younger generation through systematic school programs and extracurricular development projects focused on democracy, human rights, and responsible citizenship, including initiatives such as Korzo Národní, public commemorations on November 17, and educational and development projects like Samet na školách (Velvet Revolution in Schools) and Akademie Díky, že můžem (Thanks That We Can Academy). The organization concentrates on strengthening civic education, competencies for active participation in society, and supporting young people in developing self-confidence, critical thinking, and the ability to translate values into concrete action, while remaining committed to its founding belief that young people should have a real opportunity to influence public life.
