Alex Fieldcamp was born and raised in New York City, and he continues to call the city home. He had his early schooling at St. Bernard's School, Loyola, and Groton. Fieldcamp's interest in money and markets led him to the undergraduate business school at Cornell University, where he majored in Applied Economics with a Finance specialization. He has worked in finance for the most of his career, for both large investment management firms and boutique investment banks. Alexander Fieldcamp is proud of his Cuban mother, who immigrated to the United States as a child to make a new life for herself. Fieldcamp has traveled to Cuba multiple times to see his family and learn more about his ancestors. He drove the length of Cuba's island, from Havana to Santiago, on one of his trips, a voyage he vividly recalls to this day.
