Alon Rosin has developed a respected reputation in institutional finance through nearly three decades of experience in trading, derivatives strategy, and portfolio management. He currently serves as Managing Director and Head of US Institutional Equity Derivatives at Oppenheimer & Co., where he advises institutional investors on sophisticated options strategies and market exposure management. His leadership continues to strengthen the firm’s institutional derivatives presence across competitive financial markets. Alon built a unique professional background by working extensively on both the buy side and sell side of the financial industry. This balanced experience provided him with valuable insight into how institutional investors evaluate risk, manage liquidity, and respond to changing market conditions. His ability to understand the perspectives of both traders and clients has helped him become a trusted advisor within institutional trading and derivatives strategy. Alon graduated Cum Laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. During his academic years, he earned recognition through multiple appearances on the Dean’s List. After completing his studies, he entered the Sales and Trading training program at Salomon Brothers, where he gained early exposure to fast-moving institutional markets, which helped shape his disciplined, analytical approach to finance. Alon later expanded his market expertise while working within hedge funds such as J. Goldman & Co. and Diamondback Capital. Serving as both a portfolio manager and senior trader, he focused on identifying opportunities, managing portfolio exposure, and navigating complex market conditions. These experiences gave him a practical understanding of institutional investing and strengthened his ability to evaluate risk while operating within highly competitive trading environments. Alon also gained extensive leadership experience before joining Oppenheimer through his role as Head of Institutional Sales for Derivatives and Equities in the Americas at BGC Partners. In that position, he worked closely with institutional investors while helping expand the company’s institutional trading operations. His combination of strategic market knowledge and relationship management skills helped establish his reputation throughout the institutional finance community. Alon has played a major role in expanding Oppenheimer’s institutional equity derivatives platform through strategic growth initiatives and team development. One of the most significant milestones during his tenure was co-leading the acquisition of Guggenheim’s options desk, which significantly expanded the derivatives team. He also attracted media attention for market commentary during volatile periods, including a widely discussed market call made during the turbulence of April 2025. Alon Rosin remains active outside finance through philanthropy, charitable contributions, and personal interests, including golf, tennis, skiing, padel, and international travel. He has quietly supported community programs and charitable events over many years while maintaining a strong commitment to professional excellence. Friends and colleagues often describe him as disciplined, competitive, and relationship-focused, qualities that continue to shape both his personal and professional life.
