Service has always been a meaningful part of Coleman Creed Ledbetter’s life. He has participated in mission trips and volunteer projects that have allowed him to give back to others while learning more about himself. Through UMARMY, he worked on construction projects to improve homes and neighborhoods. At a women’s shelter, he contributed to building a children’s library designed as a safe place for families. In Costa Rica, he volunteered with Cepia, a nonprofit focused on education and cultural growth. These experiences taught him that service is not only helpful but a privilege, reinforcing the compassion, responsibility, and sense of community with which he was raised. That foundation began in Waller, Texas, where Coleman was born and raised. Surrounded by wide open land, horses, and strong family traditions, he grew up on a horse ranch down the dirt road from his Grandparents. His mornings often started with chores, and evenings were spent fishing or exploring the outdoors. These routines gave him a strong work ethic and a lasting connection to nature. Waller was not just his hometown, but the place where he learned honesty, responsibility, and community values that continue to shape his path in education and life. Coleman graduated from Waller High School in 2021. He began his college journey at Texas Tech before transferring to South Plains College, where he expects to graduate in 2026. His career goal is to become an electrician. For Coleman Ledbetter, education is less about titles and more about gaining practical skills that prepare him for life. He values the trades because they allow him to create something real with his own hands. Training as an electrician provides both independence and stability while still leaving space for his creative pursuits. Music has also been a steady part of Coleman’s life. Family gatherings around the campfire often involved passing around guitars, with his father and grandmother playing and encouraging him to join. What began as a family tradition developed into his own pursuit of songwriting, singing, and guitar playing. His style fits naturally within country music, a genre that reflects his identity and roots. Coleman has also performed live in Lubbock, including at Bashas, a venue that gives opportunities to upcoming artists. His Texas home and time outdoors often inspire his songs as well as the people he loves. Music continues to serve as a grounding outlet for him. When not in school or writing music, Coleman spends much of his time outdoors. Fishing, hunting, and surfing are not side activities but a way of life. Growing up in Texas gave him a love for wide open spaces, while early trips to Costa Rica introduced him to surfing, which quickly became one of his favorite activities. Whether he is fishing at a lake, hunting back home, or riding waves in Costa Rica, time outdoors helps him recharge and stay balanced. Work experience has also shaped Coleman’s outlook. At Epic Energy, he worked as a construction assistant, gaining direct experience with demanding work-sites and the importance of teamwork. Additionally, he assists in managing his family’s rental properties in Costa Rica and Lubbock, Texas. These responsibilities include both maintenance and customer service, which have taught him adaptability and accountability. Each job has strengthened his skills and his persistence in facing challenges. Family continues to play a central role in Coleman’s life. The values and influences of earlier generations continue to resonate with him today. His dog, Lola, is a constant presence, whether on the ranch, at the lake, or resting at home. Family and friends help keep him grounded as he balances school, work, and his music career. Coleman also shares his music and personal ventures through a digital presence. His website, colemancreed.com, as well as his social media platforms on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, enable him to connect authentically with his audience. These platforms provide him with a way to promote his music while remaining true to himself. Today, Coleman is working to balance two paths: his education and career goals in the trades with his creative pursuits in country music. He expects to graduate in 2026 and begin work as an electrician, while continuing to write songs, play guitar, and perform whenever possible. He believes both paths can coexist, one providing stability and the other fueling creativity. Looking ahead, Coleman envisions a life built on both effort and imagination. Whether on stage, on a job site, or surfing in Costa Rica, he carries forward the values of family, hard work, and the outdoors. His story is still being written, but it reflects authenticity, purpose, and determination.
