Dr. Sudesh Banaji has been a prominent figure in internal medicine in Forest City, Arkansas, since 2000. He is the provider and medical director at the Internal Medicine of Forrest City. His deep expertise in chronic care, preventive health, and wellness examinations, mainly focusing on serving rural communities. Originally from India, Dr. Banaji excelled during his education at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala in Mysore, particularly in scientific subjects. He earned his medical degree from JJM Medical College at the University of Mysore. His comprehensive medical training included an intensive internship at Chigateri General Hospital in Davangere, where he gained valuable experience across various medical disciplines. He specialized further by pursuing a residency in anesthesiology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India, where he conducted significant research on pediatric neuromuscular blocking agents. 1993 Dr. Banaji relocated to the United States and successfully passed the U.S. medical licensing exams. He completed an anesthesiology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, before transitioning to internal medicine with a residency at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, where he received the "Outstanding Internal Medicine Resident" award in 1998. Upon settling in Arkansas in 2000, Dr. Banaji initially worked in private practice and as an emergency room physician at what is now known as Forrest City Medical Center. In 2005, he founded Internal Medicine of Forrest City, where he implemented several value-based care programs, including the Patient-Centered Medical Home and Comprehensive Primary Care Plus, which have greatly improved the quality of patient care. Since 2008, he has also been the Medical Director of the Earle Family Medical Clinic in Earle, Arkansas, overseeing the clinic's medical practices and ensuring exemplary care for patients in smaller communities. Dr. Banaji is exceptionally skilled in managing chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). His approach to medicine is highly personalized, focusing on tailored care plans that address the individual needs of his patients. Dr. Banaji is also dedicated to giving back to the community. He is actively involved with the Indian Cultural Center and Temple and supports organizations like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Autism Society of America.
